a bone is a bone is a bone.
at face value, a solitary bone or tooth tells us nothing about its previous owner. it does not communicate personality, age, political positions, sexuality, or even gender. despite this, these objects are some of the most visceral and recognizable signifiers of human presence.

i make things: objects that can represent everything and nothing simultaneously. i am interested in the overwhelming presence of multitudes, but also the quiet calm that an individually crafted object can invoke. i draw inspiration from human bones and teeth, mostly for their concurrent vagueness and specificity.

the immense weight of sadness and the distinct swell of joy that i uncover in the realization of my works is this spirit of dualism--that in a different light, something quite obscured can become perfectly clear.
